Biography

Liam Wesley hails from the town of  Parry Sound, Ontario, where his love for music took roots early. He first learned the piano, laying a solid foundation in theory and technique, before discovering the acoustic guitar; a instrument that allowed him to blend his scholarly grasp of music with heartfelt, original songwriting. Years of vocal training have helped tune his voice into a warm, narrative‑driven instrument, positioning him as a compelling artist within the folk genre.

Liam grew up immersed in a family full of East‑Coast traditions, where folk music would be playing in his home on a daily occurrence. The sounds of Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers, The Irish Rovers, and Great Big Sea formed the soundtrack of his childhood, linking him to his Newfoundland and Nova  Scotia heritage. At the same time, the rural Ontario landscape introduced him to a mix of country classics, rock anthems, and traditional folk, shaping a hybrid musical style that balances nostalgic with exploratory twists.

During high school, Liam’s leadership role as student‑council president helped his artistic ambitions, culminating in a breakthrough performance at Parry Sound High  School’s ArtsFest. This was the moment that set him on the path toward formal music education. His showmanship interest came again when he took on the role of Evan Hansen in a class presentation in 2023; Followed by the lead role of Seymour Krelborn in the University of Guelph’s production of Little Shop of Horrors in 2024.

Now in his fourth year pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of Guelph, Liam continues to evolve both as a performer and a writer. Weaving together his unique knowledge of music genres and personal drive to create music, Liam plans to continue his path in his passion.
